Clothes For Sale

Op Shops

Op-shops can be found in a number parishes around the Diocese that provide low cost clothing, household utensils and furniture to families and individuals within the Community.  Our Op Shops are staffed primarily by volunteers and offer a place of welcome for those looking to connect to others and make a difference in their community.

In some locations the Op Shop also offers an opportunity for those needing work experience as part of their search for paid employment in conjunction with other organisations and government agencies.  The money raised in the Op Shop will primarily go to support the work of the parish and to provide funds to support charities beyond the parish, both locally and further afield.

The benefits to the local community from Op Shops is apparent but the good news goes beyond the local.  As well as charitable giving, some of the goods donated will not be sold but rather will  be used to  supply clothing to three Aboriginal Communities up north, St Bart’s Men’s Refuge, the Albany Women’s Refuge, two Refugee Centres in Darwin, the Mission to Seafarers, as well as families in crisis or distress.

If you would like to visit one of our Op Shops or wish to learn more, please contact the parish within which the Op Shop is located for more details.

The Bible Society

Our Father, high in your Holy Place, your name is holy.

We want the day to come

when you reign as King in our land.

We want you to become Boss of our land, the same way you are Boss of your Holy Place.

Today, give us the food that we eat every day.

Forgive our wrong-doing,the same way we forgive the wrong-doing that people do to us.

Do not take us on the path that goes to wrong-doing,

but hold us so the Devil cannot get us.

You hold the land.

You hold the power.

You hold the light.

Forever and forever.

Amen.
