Licensed Lay Ministry - LLM
The Diocese of Bunbury benefits from a large number of Licensed Lay Ministers (LLMs) throughout our church communities who offer ministry in a variety of ways. Our licensed ministries fall into 5 categories although many individual LLMs work across more than one of these categories in their churches. The categories are:
Procedure for Becoming an LLM
1) Usually you will be asked by the Priest in Charge to be an LLM.
2) On the other hand, if you have a sense of call to this ministry, you must speak to the Priest in Charge.
3) Where there is no Priest in Charge please speak to the Bishop.
4) Once agreed, you will need to complete an Application form, which will also be read out in church. You will find it below.
5) Once agreed, you then enrol in the appropriate LLM Courses via Google Classroom.
6) Practical Learning happens in your ministry setting.
7) Finally, you will be issued with a 3 Year Licence. (Extensions may be made every 3 years.)
The LLM Handbook gives details of the training required by category with each LLM candidate completing the relevant tasks for the categories under which they wish to be licensed. A copy of the LLM Handbook is available here.
